COMMERCIAL SECURITY GUARD SERVICE
UNIQUE NEEDS:
Hotel security
Situation: New Orleans is a top tourism destination; as such, there are more than 14,000 hotel rooms in the city. The coronavirus pandemic has shut down or reduced capacity at most hotels. Reduced travel has also reduced demand for hotel rooms, including meeting facilities. However, properties need security even without guests; security staff are reduced due to furloughs and quarantine.
In August, Hurricane Laura sent Lake Charles-area evacuees to New Orleans. They were housed in 33 hotels across the city, creating a need for enhanced security in facilities with reduced security forces.
Solution: NOLA Protection Group has, over the last few years, worked at every major hotel in downtown New Orleans, traditionally providing security for meeting spaces and staffing access control points for attendees of meetings, activities and sporting events. During 2020, we’ve provided thousands of contract hours of hotel security for hotels facing new security challenges, while reluctant to restaff at full force as health conditions remain questionable. Our services include code of conduct enforcement, safety monitoring, and quality-of-life issues presented by unique situations like long-term occupancy by displaced persons.
